On Monday, February 7, 2011, 7:00 PM at the Port Theatre Mr. Laplante will present a special program in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Franz Liszt. The program for this Recital will include Menuet Antique and Sonatine by Ravel, Sonata in B minor, Longo 33 by Scarlatti, Les Cypres de la Villa d’Este, Les Jeux d’Eau a la Villa d’Este and the Années de Pèlerinage, Book 2, Italy by Franz Liszt.
SPECIAL PRICE FOR CONSERVATORY STUDENTS! Conservatory students are entitled to one ticket at 50% off the regular student rate for this concert. NCM student rate is $10 and a voucher must be obtained from the office (after January 4) which can be redeemed at the Port Theatre Box Office.

FACULTY CONCERT - FABULOUS!
Roni Wagner and Karl Rainer performed Works for Two Violas Friday November 26 @ 5 PM. The were lots of people in attendance and it was a fabulous event! The next concert is January 28 at 5PM in the Ensemble Room featuring flutists Jennifer Cluff and Cindy Speelman. Come and experience the sounds of the entire flute family from the bass flute to the piccolo.
STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS
¨ Marilyn Rummel and the Nanaimo Conservatory congratulates two students receiving Silver Medals for the highest Provincial mark in the RCM 2009-2010 examination year in their instrument and grade: Kaleigh Stroink, Gr. 6 harp, and Rosamund Graham Gr. 2 harp. Happy students received their medal at the Provincial presentation last month in Vancouver, where Kaleigh was also one of the medal winners chosen to perform.

She promises another season of fabulous shows on the Island as well as parts east, including the addition of Duncan to the schedule.
